Chinese mainland reports 17 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland registered 17 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, 15 from overseas and two domestically transmitted, the National Health Commission said on Wednesday.

Of the domestically transmitted cases, all were reported in Xinjiang, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

Of the new imported cases, four were reported in Shanghai, three in Guangdong, three in Sichuan, two in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, two in Fujian and one in Shaanxi, the commission said.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 86,087 and the cumulative death toll is at 4,634.
