The Chinese mainland reported 221 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, including 173 domestically transmitted and 48 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Monday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 855 asymptomatic infections on Sunday, including 751 locally transmitted and 104 imported, the National Health Commission said.
There were 3,784 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Sunday, with 15 in critical condition.
Sunday also saw 311 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.
The total number of confirmed cases in the Chinese mainland stood at 257,583 and the death toll stood at 5,226.
