Chinese mainland reports 19 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 16 new asymptomatic cases

The Chinese mainland registered 19 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, of which four were domestically transmitted and 15 were imported, the National Health Commission said on Sunday.

Among the locally transmitted cases, four were reported in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

Also on Saturday, 16 asymptomatic cases were reported on the mainland. And a total of 319 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation.

There were 618 active cases, including 34 in critical condition on Chinese mainland as of Saturday, with three suspected cases. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 56 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 84,827 and the cumulative death toll is at 4,634.
