Chinese mainland reports 19 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, all imported

The Chinese mainland registered 19 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, all of which were imported cases, the National Health Commission said on Monday.

Of the imported cases, five were reported in Shanghai, four in Guangdong, two each in Henan, Sichuan and Shannxi, and one each in Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Jiangsu and Fujian.

Also on Sunday, 17 asymptomatic cases were reported on the mainland, all imported. And a total of 242 asymptomatic patients were under medical observation.

There were 183 active cases as of Sunday. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while nine COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 89,994 and the cumulative death toll was 4,636 as of Sunday.
