Chinese mainland reports 2 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

Chinese health authority said on Thursday it received reports of two new confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland on Wednesday, between which one was imported in Fujian Province, and one was in Shanghai.

The Chinese mainland registered no deaths and no suspected cases on Wednesday.

According to the National Health Commission, eight people were discharged from hospitals after recovery, while the number of severe cases reduced one to four.

As of Wednesday, the mainland had reported a total of 1,734 imported cases. Of the cases, 1,688 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery, said the commission.

Also on Wednesday, 23 new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases were reported on the mainland. The commission said 413 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation, including 24 from abroad.
