Chinese mainland reports 204 new local confirmed COVID-19 cases, 630 local asymptomatic infections

The Chinese mainland reported 247 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, including 204 domestically transmitted and 43 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Wednesday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 749 asymptomatic infections on Tuesday, including 630 locally transmitted and 119 imported, the National Health Commission said.

There were 4,312 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Tuesday, with 14 in critical condition.

Tuesday also saw 348 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 256,515 and the death toll stood at 5,226.
