Chinese mainland reports 22 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 4 locally transmitted

The Chinese mainland on Monday reported 22 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases, including four locally transmitted cases and 18 arriving from outside the mainland, the National Health Commission said Tuesday.

Of the locally transmitted cases, all were reported in Liaoning Province, the commission said in its daily report.

Of the imported cases, six were reported in Shaanxi, four in Shanghai, two in Sichuan, one in Heilongjiang, one in Zhejiang, one each in Fujian, Shandong, Hunan and Guangdong.

There were 260 active imported cases as of Monday. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 18 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 90,894, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.
