The Chinese mainland registered 23 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, eight from overseas and 15 domestically transmitted, the National Health Commission said on Saturday.
Of the domestically transmitted cases, 15 were reported in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.
No deaths related to the disease were reported Saturday, while 45 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals. Altogether, 79,168 patients have been discharged from hospitals by Saturday, the report said.
The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 84,619 and the cumulative death toll is at 4,634, with 270 asymptomatic patients under medical observation.
