Chinese mainland reports 23 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland reported 23 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, two locally transmitted and 21 imported, the National Health Commission said on Monday.

Two locally transmitted case was detected in Liaoning and Heilongjiang Province. Eight new imported cases were reported in Shanghai, six in Inner Mongolia, three in Guangdong, two in Fujian, and one each in Shaanxi and Sichuan, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

A total of 3,859 imported cases had been discharged from hospitals after recovery while 277 remained hospitalized, including three in severe conditions, the commission said.
