Chinese mainland reports 23 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, all imported

The Chinese mainland on Saturday reported 23 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases, all of which were imported cases, the National Health Commission said Sunday.

Of the imported cases, 12 were reported in Guangdong, four in Yunnan, three in Shanghai, two in Zhejiang and one each in Fujian and Sichuan, the commission said in its daily report.

There were 363 active imported cases as of Saturday. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 16 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 91,587 and the cumulative death toll was 4,636 as of Saturday.
