Chinese mainland reports 24 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 12 locally transmitted

The Chinese mainland on Saturday reported 24 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 12 locally transmitted cases and 12 arriving from outside the mainland, the National Health Commission said Sunday.

The locally transmitted cases were reported in Yunnan Province, the commission said in its daily report.

Of the imported cases, four were reported in Yunnan, three in Shanghai, two in Sichuan, and one each in Guangdong, Guangxi and Shaanxi, the commission said.

There were 411 active imported cases as of Saturday. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 19 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 92,039 and the cumulative death toll was 4,636 as of Saturday.
