Chinese mainland reports 24 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, all imported

The Chinese mainland on Tuesday reported 24 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases, all of which were imported cases, the National Health Commission said Wednesday.

Of the imported cases, 12 were reported in Sichuan, six in Shanghai, three in Guangdong, two in Jiangsu and one in Fujian, the commission said.

There were 388 active imported cases as of Tuesday. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 22 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 91,653 and the cumulative death toll was 4,636 as of Tuesday.
