Chinese mainland reports 25 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 20 new asymptomatic patients

The Chinese mainland registered 25 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, of which nine were domestically transmitted and 16 were imported, the National Health Commission said on Wednesday.

The domestically transmitted cases were all reported in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

Also on Tuesday, 20 asymptomatic cases were reported on the mainland. And a total of 288 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation.

There were 761 active cases, including 40 in critical condition on Chinese mainland as of Tuesday, with three suspected cases. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 58 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 84,737 and the cumulative death toll is at 4,634.
