Chinese mainland reports 26 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 7 locally transmitted

The Chinese mainland on Friday reported 26 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases, including seven locally transmitted cases and 19 arriving from outside the mainland, the National Health Commission said Saturday.

The locally transmitted cases were reported in Yunnan Province, the commission said in its daily report.

Of the imported cases, six were reported in Shanghai, four in Yunnan, three each in Sichuan and Shaanxi, two in Tianjin and one in Guangdong, the commission said.

There were 417 active imported cases as of Friday. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 16 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 92,015 and the cumulative death toll was 4,636 as of Friday.
