The Chinese mainland reported 3,624 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, including 3,561 domestically transmitted and 63 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Tuesday.
The Chinese mainland also reported 35,021 asymptomatic infections on Monday, including 34,860 locally transmitted and 161 imported, the National Health Commission said.
There were 33,967 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Monday, with 106 in critical condition.
Monday also saw 2,786 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.
The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 315,248 and the death toll stood at 5,233.
