The Chinese mainland reported 33 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, 17 locally transmitted and 16 imported, the National Health Commission said on Tuesday.

Fourteen locally transmitted cases were detected in Hebei, two in Hebei, and one in Beijing.

Six new imported cases were detected in Shanghai, four in Guangdong, three in Sichuan, and one each in Tianjin, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Fujian, Henan and Sichuan, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

A total of 4,045 imported cases had been discharged from hospitals after recovery while 294 remained hospitalized, including five in severe conditions, the commission said.
