Chinese mainland reports 350 new local COVID-19 cases, 478 local asymptomatic infections

The Chinese mainland reported 399 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, including 350 domestically transmitted and 49 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Tuesday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 540 asymptomatic infections on Monday, including 478 locally transmitted and 62 imported, the National Health Commission said.

There were 2,561 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Monday, with three in critical condition.

Monday also saw 108 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 231,665 and the death toll stood at 5,226.
