Chinese mainland reports 380 new local COVID-19 cases, 572 local asymptomatic infections

The Chinese mainland reported 444 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, including 380 domestically transmitted and 64 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Wednesday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 650 asymptomatic infections on Tuesday, including 572 locally transmitted and 78 imported, the National Health Commission said.

There were 2,896 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Tuesday, with five in critical condition.

Tuesday also saw 109 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 232,109 and the death toll stood at 5,226.
