Chinese mainland reports 41 new local COVID-19 cases, 339 asymptomatic infections

The Chinese mainland reported 72 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, including 41 domestically transmitted and 31 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Monday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 388 asymptomatic infections on Sunday, including 339 locally transmitted and 49 imported, the National Health Commission said.

There were 532 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Sunday.

Sunday also saw 50 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 225,923 and the death toll stood at 5,226.
