Chinese mainland reports 49 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 31 new asymptomatic cases

The Chinese mainland registered 49 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, of which 14 were domestically transmitted and 35 were imported, the National Health Commission said on Monday.

The domestically transmitted cases were all reported in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

Also on Sunday, 31 new asymptomatic cases were reported on the mainland. And a total of 283 asymptomatic patients under medical observation.

There were 802 active cases, including 41 in critical condition on Chinese mainland as of Sunday, with seven suspected cases.

No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 64 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 84,668 and the cumulative death toll is at 4,634.
