Chinese mainland reports 5 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

Chinese health authority said on Sunday it received reports of five new confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland on Saturday, among which three were domestically contracted, all in Jilin Province, and two were imported.

The Chinese mainland registered no deaths and two suspected case on Saturday.

According to the National Health Commission, eight people were discharged from hospitals after recovery, while the number of severe cases reduced one to 10.

As of Saturday, the mainland had reported a total of 1,700 imported cases. Of the cases, 1,656 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery and three were in severe condition, said the commission.

Also on Saturday, 12 new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases were reported on the mainland, including one imported. The commission said 515 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation, including 30 from abroad.
