The Chinese mainland registered 5 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, all of which were imported cases, the National Health Commission said on Monday.

Of the imported cases, one each was reported in Tianjin, Shanghai, Fujian, Guangdong and Shaanxi.

Also on Sunday, nine asymptomatic cases were reported on the mainland, all imported. And a total of 265 asymptomatic patients were under medical observation.

There were 175 active cases as of Sunday. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 13 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 90,049 and the cumulative death toll was 4,636 as of Sunday.
