Chinese mainland reports 52 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland reported 52 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Friday, 36 locally transmitted and 16 imported, the National Health Commission said on Saturday.

Of local cases, 27 were detected in Heilongjiang, five in Jilin, two in Shanghai and one each in Beijing and Hebei.

Of new imported cases, nine were detected in Shanghai, three in Fujian, two in Hunan and one each in Sichuan and Shaanxi, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

A total of 83,083 cases had been discharged from hospitals after recovery while 1,711 remained hospitalized, including 78 in severe conditions, the commission said.
