Chinese mainland reports 6 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, all imported

The Chinese mainland registered 6 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, all of which were imported cases, the National Health Commission said on Friday.

Of the imported cases, four were reported in Shanghai, and two in Guangdong.

Also on Thursday, six asymptomatic cases were reported on the mainland. And a total of 270 asymptomatic patients were under medical observation.

There were 244 active cases, including one in critical condition as of Thursday. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 43 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 89,877 and the cumulative death toll is at 4636.
