Chinese mainland reports 66 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 30 locally transmitted

The Chinese mainland reported 66 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Friday, including 30 domestically transmitted and 36 imported, the National Health Commission said Saturday.

Of the locally transmitted cases, 18 were reported in Jiangsu, four in Henan, four in Hubei, three in Hunan and one in Yunnan, the commission said in its daily report.

Of the imported cases, 11 were reported in Fujian, five each in Shanghai and Yunnan, four each in Shandong and Sichuan, three in Guangdong, two in Tianjin, and one each in Liaoning and Shaanxi, the commission said.

There were 1,907 active cases on Chinese mainland as of Friday, 62 of whom were in severe conditions. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 43 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 94,326 and the cumulative death toll was 4,636 as of Friday.
