Chinese mainland reports 69 new local COVID-19 cases, 266 asymptomatic infections

The Chinese mainland reported 112 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, including 69 domestically transmitted and 43 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Tuesday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 306 asymptomatic infections on Monday, including 266 locally transmitted and 40 imported, the National Health Commission said.

There were 315 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Monday.

Monday also saw 34 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 226,035 and the death toll stood at 5,226.
