Chinese mainland reports 7 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland reported seven new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Friday, all of which were imported cases, the National Health Commission said on Saturday.

Of new imported cases, two were detected in Shanghai and one each in Tianjin, Zhejiang, Hunan, Chongqing and Shaanxi. There were 271 active imported cases as of Friday, the commission said in its daily report.

No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 15 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 90,746 and the cumulative death toll was 4,636 as of Friday.
