Chinese mainland reports 82 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland reported 82 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, 69 locally transmitted and 13 imported, the National Health Commission said on Tuesday.

Of local cases, 53 were detected in Heilongjiang, seven in Jilin, five in Hebei, and two each in Beijing and Shanghai.

Of new imported cases, eight were detected in Shanghai, two in Guangdong, and one each in Fujian, Hunan and Shaanxi, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

One death was reported in Jilin, the commission said.

A total of 82,676 cases had been discharged from hospitals after recovery while 1,885 remained hospitalized, including 110 in severe conditions, the commission said.
