The Chinese mainland on Wednesday reported 83 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 60 locally transmitted cases and 23 arriving from outside the mainland, the National Health Commission said Thursday.

Among the imported cases, nine were reported in Guangxi, four in Hubei, three in Guangdong, two each in Shanghai and Yunnan, one each in Tianjin, Fujian and Shaanxi, the commission said in its daily report.
Of the local cases, 42 cases were reported in Inner Mongolia's Hulun Buir, 12 in Zhejiang, four in Heilongjiang and one each in Jiangsu and Yunnan, the commission said.
There were 1,190 active cases on Chinese mainland as of Wednesday, with 24 in critical conditions. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while 26 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.
The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 99,454, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.
