The Chinese mainland on Sunday reported 84 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 26 locally transmitted cases and 58 arriving from outside the mainland, the National Health Commission said in its daily report on Monday.

Of the new local cases, 18 were reported in Liaoning, six in Guangxi, and one each in Guangdong and Yunnan, the commission said.

Among the imported cases, 27 were reported in Guangdong, 14 in Shandong, eight in Shanghai, five in Fujian, two on Liaoning, and one each in Henan and Sichuan, the commission added.

There were 1,398 active cases on Chinese mainland as of Sunday, with five in critical conditions. No deaths related to the disease were reported. Sunday also saw 83 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, said the commission.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 107,014, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.
