The Chinese mainland reported 9 new confirmed COVID-19 cases Tuesday, including two locally transmitted and seven imported cases , the National Health Commission said on Wednesday.

The new domestically transmitted cases were all detected in Inner Mongolia, said the commission’s daily report.

Three new imported cases were reported in Guangdong, and one each in Shanghai, Fujian, Henan and Shaanxi, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

A total of 3,638 imported cases had been discharged from hospitals after recovery while 235 remained hospitalized, including three in severe conditions, the commission said.
