Chinese mainland reports 9 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, all imported

The Chinese mainland registered nine new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, all of which were imported cases, the National Health Commission said on Friday.

Of the imported cases, three were reported in Shanghai, two each in Guangdong and Sichuan, and one each in Henan and Shaanxi.

Also on Thursday, ten asymptomatic cases were reported on the mainland, all imported. And a total of 244 asymptomatic patients were under medical observation.

There were 182 active cases as of Thursday. No deaths related to the disease were reported, while eight COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 90,027 and the cumulative death toll was 4,636 as of Thursday.
