Chinese mainland reports 94 new local COVID-19 cases, 244 asymptomatic infections

The Chinese mainland reported 124 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, including 94 domestically transmitted and 30 imported, data from the National Health Commission showed on Thursday.

The Chinese mainland also reported 285 asymptomatic infections on Wednesday, including 244 locally transmitted and 41 imported, the National Health Commission said.

There were 809 active cases on the Chinese mainland as of Wednesday, with none in critical condition.

Wednesday also saw 39 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals, the commission added.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland stood at 226,300 and the death toll stood at 5,226.
