Beirut (People’s Daily) -- Three members of the Medical Unit of the 18th batch of China’s peacekeepers have been given a “Medical Award” by the Medical Service of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Command. It is the first award the medical unit has received since their deployment at the end of May.

Among the 20 or so medical service organizations of UNIFIL, the UNIFIL Hospital and China’s Peacekeeping Hospital are the only two level 1+ comprehensive hospitals.

As the UNIFIL Hospital currently has no dermatology department or traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), at the invitation of the Medical Service of the UNIFIL Command, dermatologist Zhou Hongkui and TCM technicians Li Xiuli and Li Hao from China’s Peacekeeping Hospital, have been providing bi-weekly medical services at the UNIFIL Hospital to peacekeepers in the western region and the command.

Up to now, they have received nearly 600 visits.
