Chinese video sharing website Bilibili launched a new barrage function, “non-blocking face” barrage, which was widely praised by Chinese netizens.

When you open the “Smart Barrage preventer” function at the bottom right corner of a dance video, the barrage will no longer cover figures, but show the effect of passing from behind the body.

This technology is called “Mask Barrage” by  Bilibili, which enhanced the viewing experience of the audience. 

The website said not only do they feel the interactive atmosphere of the barrage, but also see videos unaffected by the barrage.

“The barrage will not no longer block my idol’s face,” some netizens said.

Although the "mask barrage" was highly praised, there are also users worried about the failure of the barrage protector. Some netizen’s asked, “what about the barrage protector?” 

The function can only be opened in more than 40 Bilibili’s videos, most of which are from the dance and kuso areas.

Bilibili said that this function will support the future mobile terminal.  Bilibili also plans to extend this function to more video content and live broadcast services through continuous optimization .
