Chinese shares close higher Monday

BEIJING, June 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 2.21 percent to close at 2,915.43 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 3.31 percent higher at 11,102.15 points.
The combined turnover of the two bourses stood at 761.59 billion yuan (about 106.79 billion U.S. dollars), soaring from 572.3 billion yuan the previous trading day.
No sectors on the two bourses saw losses Monday, with companies in the sectors of consumer electronics, securities and semiconductors leading the gains.
Among the biggest winners, brokerage business BOC International (China) Co., Ltd. surged by the daily limit of 10 percent to end at 22.61 yuan per share.
The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 3.43 percent to close at 2,158.22 points
