BEIJING, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- China's major stock indices ended lower in the morning session Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.37 percent at 2,784.09 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index dipped 0.91 percent to end at 8,838.2 points at midday.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, fell 0.62 percent to 1,513.57 points in the morning session Friday.
