BEIJING, June 5 (Xinhua) - Chinese stocks opened higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.72 percent to open at 2,882.94 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.95 percent higher at 8,831.14 points.

The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and the Shenzhen SME (small- and medium-sized enterprises) Board Index, reflects the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
