More should be done to restore autumn grain production and hog production capacity to achieve the annual agricultural harvest targets, Hu said at a video conference.

Local governments should promptly organize farmers to resume agricultural production after natural disasters, repair damaged agricultural facilities, and strengthen financial, material and technical support to minimize the adverse effects of natural disasters, he said.

Hu urged efforts to strengthen the prevention and control of pests, and guard against typhoons, floods, droughts, early frosts and other meteorological disasters to ensure an all-round harvest of autumn grain crops.

He also highlighted work in hog production, as well as the production of poultry meat, eggs, beef, mutton, and aquatic products, to safeguard stable market supply.
