Affected by the cold front, many northern and northeastern areas will see temperatures decrease by 4-6 degrees Celsius from Monday evening to Tuesday, according to the center.

The chill will be accompanied by sleet or drizzle to moderate rain in parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and northeast China, with some areas likely to see heavy snow or blizzards, the NMC said.

Meanwhile, the rainfall in the south might come to an end, with parts of the country south of the Yangtze expecting heavy fog.

The center warned of the impact of the adverse weather.
