Common prosperity means a prosperity for all people and is not egalitarianism, said Han Wenxiu, deputy director of the daily work of Central Finance and Economics Committee’s Office, at a press conference issusing a publication titled "The CPC: Its Mission and Contributions" on Thursday.

Common prosperity means an affluency on both a material level and a spiritual level, he said. Han also emphasized that there will be gaps in income and the government will not adopt a Robin Hood-like policy to “aid the poor by robbing the rich.”
