A couple in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, northeast China's Jilin Province, have tested positive for the novel coronavirus a second time after recovering earlier from COVID-19, local officials reported Wednesday.

The two were first diagnosed with COVID-19 back in September after returning from Japan and were discharged from hospital on October 29.

They tested positive again on Monday before the husband was admitted to hospital for bowel obstruction treatment.

The couple are now under quarantine and receiving treatment. Local authorities have traced their close contacts, with all testing negative.
