More than 500 representatives of political parties from around the world have gathered for an annual dialogue with the Communist of Party of China (CPC) in the city of Shenzhen in Guangdong Province. It's a part of the country known for creating wealth. Participants were given the Chinese secret to sustained development.

Li Xi, secretary of Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPC, said at the event that the sea-change of growth relies on the firm leadership of the CPC.

"The opening-up reform is the key, and it comes with practicing the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era," he said.

Locals also testify to the effectiveness of the CPC's leadership and commitment to growth.

Peter E. Lobie from the Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute, also head of the Precision Medicine and Healthcare Research Center, decided to work full-time in Shenzhen.

He told CGTN that his life's ambition has been with the medical and drug research and development, and China now provides the best opportunity.

"With local and national governments‘ commitment, as well as the prospect, I am confident of the future."

The province has been China's No.1 provincial economy for almost 30 years, becoming increasingly attractive to global talents.

This success story shared at the special session over the annual CPC dialogue was well accepted.

Vijitha Herath, member of Parliament of Sri Lanka, told CGTN that he had some major takeaways from the sessions, including inspiration and lessons of development. "We can follow the growth model with Chinese characteristics," he said.

Representatives from more than 200 world political parties attended the event on Sunday; many say the Chinese secret to growth will go global.

Pakistan Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed had visited Shenzhen, the pilot zone in the reform and opening-up 40 years ago. He said it was then just a fishing village, poor and insignificant. Seeing the massive change taking place in the last 40 years, he said that "miracle" development is also lessons for other parties and countries.

"Political stability, continuity of policies, cutting red-tape bureaucracy, in these the Communist Party of China has done a remarkable job (and facilitate growth)," he told CGTN.

"Leadership with vision, talents who are encouraged to break new grounds, and ample opportunities (are the key to growth)," he said, adding that China's growth model could also work at other places.

Mushahid Hussain Syed is the special envoy of the Pakistan Muslim League. He is also chairman at the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
