Two new domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases and 12 asymptomatic cases were found in the city of Dalian, northeast China's Liaoning Province, said Luo Weixing, deputy secretary general of the Dalian city government during a press briefing on Thursday.

The cases were found while tracking the close contacts of the confirmed patient reported on Wednesday.

A 58-year-old man, identified only by his surname Shi, who works for a seafood processing company in the city, was confirmed to have contracted the virus on Wednesday.
