A 6.0-magnitude earthquake killed three people, severely injured three and injured an additional 57 in Luxian county, Southwest China’s Sichuan Province, on Thursday.

Expressways and main highways in the city of Luzhou are operating normally and a green channel for rescuers has been opened, according to local officials. The Luzhou high-speed train station has shut down.

The Luzhou government has launched a level-II response, the second highest in China's four-tier earthquake emergency response system.

The earthquake, which occurred at 4:33 am, struck at a depth of 10 kilometers, and its epicenter was monitored at 29.2 degrees north latitude and 105.34 degrees east longitude, according to the China Earthquake Network Center.

The rescue is continuing.
