A female doctor was stabbed by a man with a knife during an appointment with a patient, who identifies as the man's family, in Beijing on Tuesday morning.

Dr. Yang Wen sustained severe injuries to her neck and was put under treatment at the Civil Aviation General Hospital, where the incident took place.

Unfortunately, the victim passed away on Wednesday.

The 55-year-old attacker surnamed Sun was detained on the spot and later arrested by local police. The case is still under investigation.
