A three-episode documentary about China's reform and opening-up will be aired to global audiences starting Saturday.

Audiences can watch the documentary, titled "How China Made It," on the Discovery Channel and China's video site Youku.

It presents the economic and social changes that have taken place in China over the past four decades and the great improvements in people's living conditions, according to a statement from the releasing ceremony held Friday in Beijing.

The first episode shows the development and changes that reform and opening-up brought to China's rural areas, the second tells about new development opportunities for the Chinese people to realize their dreams, and the third displays China's various changes in terms of fashion, education and health, according to the statement.

The documentary was jointly produced by the China Intercontinental Communication Center, Youku and the Discovery Channel, with the guidance and support from the State Council Information Office.
