Local hospitals in Hubei, Jiangsu, and other provinces in China have made an appeal for the donation of funds and medical supplies for helping curb the outbreak of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in China.
A medical staff member took this photo during a break at 4 am on Tuesday in Wuhan Third Hospital. The signs say, "We will fight together to overcome the virus, protect lives and our own city," "Go Wuhan!" and similar encouraging words.
The hospitals called on Chinese locals as well as nationals living overseas to donate money and supplies to help contain the pneumonia outbreak, especially medical supplies and protective items, including face masks, protective caps, suits, goggles and disposable latex gloves.
Hospital personnel stressed that before sending donations, people need to make sure that the items meet the requirements.
The protective supplies must be in accordance with or higher than the China's national standard of the following:
Medical protective mask: GB19083-2010
Medical surgical masks: YY0469-2011
Medical protective suits: GB19082-2003
All donations must be within in the warranty period and made by qualified enterprises, with packaging in good condition.
Donors of supplies can log on to the official website of Wuhan customs for details.
