The section crossing the Tianshan Mountains is commonly known as the Dushanzi-Kuqa Highway, or Duku Highway.

The 560-kilometer-long Duku Highway connects Dushanzi in northern Xinjiang and Kuqa County in the south.

Winding through the Tianshan Mountains, it links various beautiful natural scenic landscape, such glaciers, forests and grasslands.

It stretches across steep mountains and deep peaks and valleys, connecting numerous ethnic communities. Duku Highway is the top road trip in China for the spectacular landscape and steep road condition.
