The mudflats and aquaculture ponds adjacent to Hongze Lake have dried up.

The Yangtze River is the main water source in Jiangsu to fight against drought. But its water level remains low.

According to the meteorological department, the precipitation in Jiangsu Province will remain low for some time to come and the drought will continue. (Compiled by Chen Yingke)
